RPM Conversation Club

Does a score of Net Zero pass the test?

The second in our new series of amazing conversations, Thursday 15th February 2024 at 4pm, will feature Eddie Obeng who will be discussing the challenging questions we are all asking about Net Zero.

As “sense maker in a bat$crazy world” and guru in the field of project management, Professor Eddie Obeng will assess the UK Government’s “Net Zero Strategy: Build Back Greener” through the eyes of a programme or project manager.  Human actions alter habitats globally: no one doubts this, and it has always been so.  Projects are the collective actions of humans that create the future and, again, no one doubts this, it has always been so.  So, if the strategy is Net Zero, how should we approach the programmes and projects required to build back greener?  What does “greener” mean for managing projects?  How do we avoid destruction of the habitats, flora, fungi, and fauna upon which all life on Earth (including humans) depends?  What responsibility do we project professionals have to enable solutions that are proximally the greatest good?

Big questions, even bigger answers needed.  Join us for what will be a thought-provoking session on Thursday 15th February.
